GRASSHOPPER YOGA STUDIO PRESENTS

WINTER YOGA RETREAT
with teachers Nancy Boler and Silke Schroeder

"Know Thy Asana, Know Thyself"
Christine Center, Willard, WI
5-8 February 2009

Written approximately 2000 years ago, Patanjali's "Yoga Sutras" is heralded as one of the ultimate texts of the Yoga tradition. In it Patanjali offers an illumined, comprehensive distillation of the yogic path of enlightenment. While some students/yoga enthusiasts may be familiar with some of the Sutras, to practice in the spirit of the tradition and to have an embodied experience of the teachings is truly exceptional.

Specifically, we will look at the Yoga Sutras in Chapter II: 46-53. These sutras include the sage's words on Asana and Pranayama. Our study will focus on the relationship between Right Effort and Flow of Prana. Over this retreat weekend, Nancy and Silke invite you to develop a working understanding of yogic science according to Patanjali -- to unlock the meaning of the Sutras and the potential of your personal practice.

The retreat begins Thursday evening at 5:30 pm dinner and concludes Sunday around noon. Participants are welcome to arrive at the Christine Center beginning at 3pm on Thursday the 5th.

YOGA RETREAT INCLUDES:

* All yoga and meditation classes offered by Nancy & Silke
* All meals
* Lodging

COST DOES NOT INCLUDE:

* Transportation
* Extra services such as massage & bodywork

CHRISTINE CENTER:
The Christine Center is located approximately two and a half hours from the Twin Cities in the tranquil woods of Willard, Wisconsin. Situated on 120 secluded acres, the center offers various accommodations including guest house rooms, modern cabins, rustic cabins, and campsites. Since this retreat is offered in the winter, housing options will be limited to guest house or modern cabin. Classes will be held in the Meditation Chapel, a beautiful studio with a domed ceiling, skylights, large windows, and heated hardwood floor. For more information on the Christine Center, please visit www.christinecenter.org

RETREAT RATES:
Guest house or Cabin - $440
These are all shared accomodations and vary from 2 person to 5 person. The Guest house is part of the main building, the cabins are a short walk to the main building.
(If you have a strong preference, you can request either guest house or cabin and we will do our best to accomodate. )
